Bridgend Primary – Head Teacher appointed
Victoria McCarthy has been appointed by The Highland Council as Head Teacher for Bridgend Primary.
Councillor John Finlayson, Chair of Highland Council's Education Committee said: "I am delighted to welcome Victoria McCarthy to Highland Council as Head Teacher of Bridgend Primary and to our Highland community. Mrs. McCarthy brings a wealth of experience to the role which our pupils, staff and wider community will greatly benefit from. I wish her every success in her new post and look forward to meeting with her when she begins at the school."
Mrs. McCarthy currently works as the Head Teacher of Murthly Primary School in Perth and Kinross. She previously worked as a Principal Teacher at Longforgan Primary School also in Perth and Kinross. Mrs McCarthy started her teaching career with Falkirk Council teaching in Victoria Primary School.
Mrs McCarthy qualified with a Bachelor of Education from Moray House College for Education in Edinburgh. She completed her Standard for Headship with Stirling University and returned there to complete a Master of Science in Professional Enquiry: School Leadership and Management in 2014.
Mrs McCarthy said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as Head Teacher of Bridgend Primary School and I am looking forward to moving permanently to my home in the highlands and meeting the staff, children and parents of Bridgend Primary. I feel very fortunate to be joining such a supportive school community who have already made me feel very welcome.”
