There will also be an art exhibition in the Town Hall and children’s entertainment on the High Street throughout the day.

The Invergordon RNLI is also holding an open day on Monday at their lifeboat station at the West Harbour.

This will be the fourth visit of the QE2 to Invergordon, which is emerging as a popular venue for cruise liners. The Queen Mary 2 attracted more than 20,000 people when it visited on 19 June and a total of 47 liners are expected to visit the port this year.

Local Highland Councillor John Connell said: "I’m delighted that Invergordon will once again be playing host to one of the world’s best known cruise liners. This will be her fourth visit, a fact that underlines the popularity of Invergordon and the Highlands as a destination for cruise liners. Businesses in Invergordon are looking forward to another busy day. In addition to the 1,600 passengers and crew, we are expecting a large number of visitors to the town. They will be able to enjoy a taste of the Highlands with the Black Isle Brewery, Glenmorangie Distillery and craftmakers from across the Highlands displaying their wares."
