Temporary overnight road closures as work on Westlink2 progresses
The Highland Council is advising drivers that a section of the A82 in Inverness will be affected by overnight road closures from Monday 18 January for five consecutive nights.
The section affected is the A82 between the new Torvean roundabout and the Tomnahurich roundabout and the temporary closures will be in place between the hours of 1900 and 0600. This is to allow the Highland Councils controls contractor to link the Tomnahurich bridge control system to the new control building. Depending on the weather, the Council’s surfacing contractor may also take the opportunity to undertake some work during these closures.
Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, public transport and for any residents or business premises within the closed section. There will be a signed diversion via Kinmylies during the closure period.
A letter drop for local residents is underway advising them of the works and restrictions and signs giving advance notice of the closure are being erected.
The council apologises for any inconvenience and recommends drivers follow the diversion signs and allow extra time for their journeys.
