Greig Street Bridge, Inverness to close for repairs
People who use the Greig Street Bridge in Inverness are being notified that the bridge will be closed from Monday 1 March 2021 for around 3 weeks.
The closure is to allow essential repair works including the removal of the existing timber decking and replacing timber supports.
The works will be carried out by McGregor Construction (Highland) Ltd on behalf of The Highland Council.
On completion, the works will ensure that the bridge continues to provide a safe and vital pedestrian link across the River Ness for many years to come.
Greig Street Bridge will be closed to everyone except those personnel working on the project.
Barriers and fencing will be positioned at either end of the bridge to prevent public access.
The nearest alternatives for pedestrian access across the River Ness are via Friar’s Bridge and Ness Bridge.
