The Highland Council welcomes new Cluster Head Teacher appointment
The Highland Council is pleased to welcome Antony McCallum-McKay as Cluster Head Teacher of Ferintosh and Mulbuie Primary schools.
Antony brings a wealth of experience and qualification to The Highland Council, including a Master of Arts from the University of Glasgow. Prior to teaching he worked with children with Additional Support Needs. His teaching career began in Central Scotland where he gained experience across a number of Authorities.
In 2015, Antony spent 2 years in Hong Kong, working in an independent international school. On returning to the UK he was appointed as a Principal Teacher progressing to Depute Head Teacher in West Lothian.
On starting his new role, Mr McCallum-McKay said: “It is a true privilege to be entrusted with the Headship of Ferintosh and Mulbuie Primary Schools. I feel extremely lucky to be part of both communities and I have received the warmest of welcomes. I already know that these are great schools and look forward to working with pupils, staff and parents/carers to achieve the highest of standards and best learning experiences for our pupils.”
Cllr John Finlayson, Chair of the Council’s Education Committee, said: “I am delighted to welcome Antony as Cluster Head Teacher at Ferintosh and Mulbuie. He has a strong background of experience and skills including outdoor learning, additional support needs, reading champion, mentoring and philanthropic activities. I look forward to working with Antony and wish him every success in his new role within The Highland Council.”
