Corran Ferry new fares from Saturday 1 May
The Highland Council has confirmed that new fares for the Corran Ferry in Lochaber will apply from Saturday 1 May for the 2021/22 season.
The new rates were agreed in March at the Council’s budget meeting and include an increase for inflation on the drive-up car fare from £8.80 to £9.00.
New fares will also be introduced for longer vehicles that were previously in the car category, including a £13.00 fare for campervans less than 6m in length and minibuses up to 16 seats, a £14.00 fare for motorhomes 6-8m in length; and a £21.60 fare for large motorhomes over 8m in length.
Fares for pre-paid ticket books remain at their current prices.
All users of the service should make sure that they follow government advice on hygiene and social distancing when using the service. This includes the wearing of face coverings which is now mandatory on all public transport including enclosed areas on vehicle and passenger ferries where Foot passengers must ensure that face coverings are worn. Vehicle passengers should remain in their vehicles throughout the journey.
Payment by card is preferred to cash but if paying by cash, travellers are advised to have the correct amount ready to hand over to staff. Occupants in vehicles are being asked to make sure they wear a face covering for all interaction with staff and turn off the vehicles’ interior fan and wind down their vehicles window before the purser approaches them.
