Temporary road closures in the Portree Area

Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council that there will be various temporary road closures in the Portree area due to upcoming resurfacing works. These closures will be commencing on Monday 10 May 2021 for approximately 2 weeks on the following streets listed below;

• A855 Bosville Terrace, Bank Street, The Green and Bridge Road (Sections only)
• Wentworth Street
• Somerled Square
• Home Farm Road
• York Drive

Given the busy nature of these roads, the works will be carried out between the hours of 6pm and 6am (at the very latest). Noise mitigation measures will be in place and operations deemed to be excessively noisy will not occur after 11pm. By carrying out the works during these times it is anticipated that this will minimise disruption to adjacent businesses and residents.

Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works, however, lane or road closures required will be removed at the end of the working period that day.

Delays will be likely, and motorists and pedestrians are asked to obey signs and directions given by the traffic management operatives.
