First Phase Of Improvements At Smoo Cave

The Highland Council has today (Wednesday) let a contract to Tilhill Forestry Ltd for the repair of the access paths around the popular visitor attraction, Smoo Cave, in North West Sutherland.

The contract is valued at £35,000 and work, which will take 6 weeks to complete, will start in late August.

In the meantime, the contract for the new external bridge at the cave, and repairs to the timber structures giving access to the inner cave will shortly be tendered, with a view to these works beginning on completion of the path repairs.
