Temporary road closures in Inverness this July
Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council that there will be temporary road closures in the Inverness-shire area this July in 3 locations; Harbour Road, Inverness, Brown Street, Inverness and MacColl Road and Comar Gardens in Cannich, Inverness-shire.
Harbour Road, Inverness
From 22:00 on Monday 5 July 2021 until 6:00 on Tuesday 6 July, there will be an overnight temporary road closure on part of the U4023 Harbour Road, Inverness, commencing at its junction with Millburn Road (B865) at the Millburn Roundabout, and extending in northerly and westerly directions for a distance of around 300 metres.
The closure is required in the interests of public safety during an inspection of the railway bridge by a contractor working on behalf of ‘Network Rail’.
Alternative routes will be available for traffic affected by this closure.
Brown Street, Inverness
Between the hours of 9:00 and 17:00 on Wednesday 7 July, there will be a temporary road closure on the U3818 Brown Street, Inverness, commencing at its junction with the U3761 Anderson Street and extending in a south-westerly direction to its termination, a distance of around 140 metres.
The closure is required in the interests of public safety during an inspection of the railway bridge by a contractor working on behalf of ‘Network Rail’.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians, cyclists and emergency vehicles attending an emergency. Other vehicles requiring access may do so at the discretion and by the instructions of the contractor.
Brown Street, Inverness, is a cul-de-sac and there are no alternative routes available for the vehicular traffic which will be affected by this Notice. Local access will be maintained, subject to it being safe to accommodate such vehicles.
MacColl Road and Comar Gardens, Cannich, Inverness-shire
There will be a temporary road closure on part of the MacColl Road and Comar Gardens in Cannich, Inverness-shire. The temporary closure will be in operation from 8:00 to 18:00 on Monday 5 July 2021.
The closure is required in the interests of safety during public utility maintenance works.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians, cyclists and emergency vehicles attending an emergency. Other vehicles requiring access may do so at the discretion and by the instructions of the contractor.
Alternative routes will be available for all other vehicles.
