Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council that there will be a temporary road closure on the B873 Syre – Altnaharra Road via Loch Naver, closed between its junction with the A836 Dornoch Bridge – Tongue – John O’ Groats Road, and its junction with B871 Kinbrace – Syre – Strathnaver – Bettyhill Road.

The closure will be in operation from Monday 12 July 2021 until Friday 13 August 2021, from 7:00 to 18:00 each day and is necessary to create a safe working area to allow for patching to single track sections of road with narrow/soft verges.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and pedestrian access and refuse collection will be controlled.

To avoid the road closure an alternative route will be available via the A836 Dornoch Bridge – Tongue – John O’ Groats Road, and the B871 Kinbrace – Syre – Strathnaver – Bettyhill Road.
