Temporary weight restriction on U1992 Swordale Road, Evanton

The Highland Council are advising motorists of the forthcoming maximum weight restriction of 17 tonnes on vehicles (whether laden or unladen) on the U1992 Evanton-Swordale Road, Evanton extending from the western gable of the West Lodge and extending in a south westerly then a north westerly direction to its termination at a turning head at Milton Lodge Stables for a distance of around 1085 metres.

The weight restriction is required because of the likelihood of serious damage to the road which is not attributable to works on or near the road. The Order will come into force at 00:01 on Monday 12 July 2021 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months.

Access will be permitted for emergency vehicles as well as vehicles being used in connection with any domestic and agriculture deliveries and collections to or from premises adjacent to or only accessible from the said length of road, the removal of any obstruction to traffic and winter and road maintenance operations.

There are no alternative routes available.
