Highland Schools Flying High At Education Oscars

Three Highland schools are celebrating after being recognised as among Scotland's finest in this year's education Oscars.

Mulbuie Primary on the Black Isle scooped the coveted Best Enterprise Award at the Scottish Education Awards, which showcase the exceptional achievements of Scottish schools, teachers and pupils.

Portree Primary, on the Isle of Skye, was a finalist for the Most Enterprising Primary Award and Ardnamurchan High School in Lochaber was a runner-up in the Education Supporter of the Year category.

Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop honoured winners at a ceremony in Glasgow.

Ms Hyslop said:

"These awards highlight the fantastic work being carried out by pupils and teachers in our classrooms.

"I hope all the winners and runners-up can build on these magnificent accomplishments and go on to even greater success in the future.

"The teachers, pupils and parents at Mulbuie Primary, Portree Primary and Ardnamurchan High can be immensely proud that the hard work being delivered in schools is so highly valued.

"I want all schools to aim for excellence, giving our young people vital skills and access to the best possible opportunities to reach their full potential."
