River Ness flood gates closure - maintenance exercise
The Highland Council will be carrying out an annual maintenance exercise regarding the flood gates on the River Ness, Inverness on Wednesday 22 September 2021 between 9am and 1pm.
This will involve closing the flood gates on the flood wall between the harbour area and the Ness Bridge. While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, there will be periods when access at some of the gates may not be possible.
The Council apologises for any inconvenience - which is in the interests of public safety - and will try to limit the closures to as short a time as possible.
In particular, the Greig Street bridge gates will be closed and it is recommended that the public avoid this particular crossing of the river during the time of the exercise.
