Tributes paid to Councillor Ian Ramon
The Highland Council has paid tribute to Councillor Ian Ramon who sadly died on Thursday 16 September 2021.
Councillor Ramon was elected in the 2017 local Government Election of The Highland Council for Ward: 21 Fort William and Ardnamurchan and served on the Lochaber Committee and Communities and Place Committee.
Convener of the Council, Cllr Bill Lobban paid tribute to Cllr Ramon. He said: “Ian was a well-respected Member of Highland Council and he will be sorely missed by fellow Members. His keen input into our debates was much appreciated. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I had not seen him personally for quite some time but in better times our joint interest in lighthouses was always extremely interesting. Our thoughts are with his family and close friends at this sad time.”
Cllr Andrew Jarvie, Leader of the Scottish Conservative & Unionist Group in The Highland Council, said: “"This news comes as such a shock to all of us, he was an incredible man who always seemed to bounce back and eager to get back to Council meetings.
"As an immensely popular local man, Ian will be missed not just by all of us in the Scottish Conservative Group, but a great many on the peninsula and across the Highlands.
"I can only express my deepest sorrow with his family at this sudden and difficult news"
