Over £93K Inverness Common Good Funds awarded
£93,670 Inverness Common Good Funding has been awarded by Members of The Highland Council’s City of Inverness Area Committee today for four projects benefiting the city.
Provost of Inverness and Area Cllr Helen Carmichael said: “These funding awards today demonstrate the importance of the Inverness Common Good Fund’s assistance in the city’s economic and social recovery from the pandemic while providing for the well-being of Inverness.”
Blythswood Care has been awarded £20,000 towards The Highland Foodbank for the provision of food bank services to the city for additional much needed welfare support to those impacted by pandemic.
Inverness Ice Centre Limited was awarded £30,000 towards the creation of a festival, cultural and events centre at the Ice Centre. The award will support the installation of specialist insulated flooring to cover the ice arena and provision of technology with the capability to stream events and to show in the lounge area.
High Life Highland has received a grant of £22,470 towards the creation of GROW Raised Beds at the Inverness Botanic Gardens.
£21,200 has been awarded to the City Flowering Projects and the Queen’s Green Canopy for the planting of 5 mature trees with a purple halo round each tree to be planted at Raigmore Interchange, Ness Hydro Scheme, Inshes District Park, UHI Gardens Inverness Campus, and Torvean Roundabout.
