Last chance to enjoy Castlehill tours

The final tour to find out more about the Inverness Castle - Spirit of the Highlands project and all that is happening around the Castlehill area takes place next week.
On behalf of The Highland Council, High Life Highland has been offering people living in and visiting Inverness free daily tours, with more than 2,000 people taking part since October.
The tours tell the story of the castle’s past, present and future, and give visitors a peek behind the hoardings that currently surround the building.
The final four tours take place on Friday, December 10 and 17 at 11am and on Saturday, December 11 and 18 at 1pm.
Fergus Ewing MSP, co-chair of the Inverness Castle - Spirit of the Highlands Delivery Group said: “We’ve been delighted with the interest shown in the project and have been very happy to give more than 2,000 people an opportunity to see the Castle up close.
“I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t yet enjoyed a walk around to book on before they finish and work on the main construction starts in the new year.”

“I’d also like to thank our fantastic tour guides who have shown visitors around and shared the exciting and ambitious plans for the castle’s future.”
The transformation of Inverness Castle is supported by £15 million Scottish Government and £3 million UK Government investment through the Inverness and Highland City Region Deal.
It will create a gateway for Highland tourism, contributing to reinvigoration of tourism across the area and providing much needed investment for the industry to aid the recovery from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The project will support economic growth throughout the Highland area, creating a sustainable, viable and “must-see” attraction that will celebrate the spirit of the Highlands.
The Inverness and Highland City Region deal is a joint initiative supported by up to £315m investment from the UK and Scottish governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and University of the Highlands and Islands, aimed at stimulating sustainable regional economic growth.
