The Rhythm Is Going To Get You In Strathpeffer - An Opportunity To Dance Gabrielle Roth’s 5 Rhythms

If you have never danced before and you would love to dance in a way you never thought possible, or, you are an experienced dancer who wants to express yourself in your own unique way, then a 5 Rhythms® dance workshop in Strathpeffer on Saturday 17 March could be for you.

The Highland Council’s Community Learning and Leisure Services, in Partnership with Strathpeffer Community Centre and HealthWays, are helping to bring the dance that is sweeping the nation to Ross and Cromarty. It is a simple dance practice designed to release the dancer that lives in everybody no matter what size, shape age or experience of dance they have had.

The workshop will be led by Deborah Jay-Lewin, a dance tutor with many years’ experience of introducing dance into different environments. Having danced with Gabrielle Roth (the Founder of 5 Rhythms) over the past 18 years, she was accredited as a teacher by the Moving Centre, New York in 1994.

Deborah teaches Wave® to weekly classes in Moray.  She said: “We have a regular group who find the classes very enjoyable.  Some dancers come twice or sometimes three times a week and one of the participants travels from as far away as Sutherland to join us.  The workshop will be fun and give will show anyone coming along a new way to dance that is enjoyable and unique.

The 5 Rhythms workshop takes place in the Strathpeffer Pavillion from 10am to 12.30pm and everyone is welcome to come and give it a try.
