Go Ahead for Edinbane Wind Farm Application
Members of The Highland Council’s Planning Development Europe and Tourism Committee today (Friday) unanimously approved an application for planning permission for a wind farm development on the island of Skye.
After a site visit, the Committee met at the Aros Centre, Portree, to consider the application from Amec for 18 wind turbines 2km to the south of Edinbane and 8km to the east of Dunvegan. The turbines proposed will be a maximum 100m high to blade tip.
The Committee received 655 representations against the proposal and 126 letters of support.
Planning officials recommended approval of the application, subject to legal agreement and conditions.
