Highland road conditions report for Tuesday 5 April 2022

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.
Road conditions reports for Tuesday 5 April 2022 are as follows:
Sutherland (posted 0907)
- Heavy wintry showers this morning. Lying snow up to 40mm inland on higher routes. All routes currently being treated in order of priority. No known issues.
Ross and Cromarty East (posted 0813)
- Wet snow affecting higher roads, lower roads wet. All routes being patrolled and treated as necessary.
Badenoch and Strathspey (posted 0759)
- Wet snow this morning but not settling, high level routes being checked and treated as necessary.
Nairn (posted 0758)
- Sleet at lower levels, snow on higher routes. Snow forecast throughout the morning so roads being treated as necessary.
Caithness (posted 0631)
- Dry roads, positive road temperatures. No action, no overnight issues reported.
Skye and Raasay (posted 0619)
- Positive road temperatures across area. No planned winter action. No overnight issues to report.
Inverness (posted 0604)
- Roads wet, no problems reported.
Wester Ross (posted 0600)
- Wet roads on all routes this morning. Some snow forecasted. No reported overnight issues. Treatment ongoing.
