Highland road conditions report - Friday 8 April 2022

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.
Road conditions reports for Friday 8 April 2022 are as follows:
Wester Ross (posted 1026)
- Wet roads with light snow cover over higher parts. All primary routes are currently being treated as necessary. No overnight issues. Some snow flurries still falling.
Skye and Raasay (posted 0809)
- Minus road temperatures across Skye and Raasay this morning. All primary and secondary routes treated at 20grms. Roads mostly dry but some icy patches. Caution advised on untreated roads. Road temperatures expected to lift from 9am. No overnight issues to report.
Badenoch and Strathspey (posted 0751)
- Some wet snow across all roads, being treated as necessary.
Nairn (posted 0741)
- Wet snow (less than 1") on the highest routes - being treated as necessary, otherwise wet roads.
Caithness (posted 0738)
- Wet roads with light hail patches treated with 10g. No overnight issues.
Sutherland (posted 0737)
- Wet roads with light snow cover over higher parts. All primary routes currently being treated as necessary. No known issues.
Inverness (posted 0619)
- Roads wet with some icy stretches on some high roads. Gritters heading out onto routes.
Ross and Cromarty (posted 0615)
- Road temperatures low and roads wet. All priority 1 and 2 roads being treated with 10g.
