Unauthorised moving of bottle banks at North Kessock
The Highland Council is disappointed to learn that an individual or individuals within North Kessock have decided to ignore the democratic decision of the local community on the location of the bottle banks and move these overnight to outside the village hall.
874 members of the local community voted in February and of this group, 67%% decided that the bottle banks should be returned to the car park location in North Kessock.
The bottle banks have been returned this morning to the location agreed by the community but this has wasted Council officer time and resource which should be focused on delivering services for the local community. This is unacceptable.
The Council has therefore reported the matter to the Police and we are seeking advice on next steps.
The Council would urge anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police have been made aware of the removal of bottle banks from Oakleigh Road, North Kessock between the evening of Wednesday, 11 and Thursday, 12 May, 2022.
"Officers are liaising with Highland Council."
