Infirmary Bridge and various Inverness roads to close for race
A number of Inverness roads and the Infirmary Bridge footbridge will be closed for the Race For Life 5K & 1OK events from 08:00 to 13:30 on Sunday 29 May 2022.
Infirmary Bridge, Inverness, will be closed between the point where it meets the C1201 Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road and the point where it meets the U4158 Ness Walk Upper.
The roads affected will be:
- U3823 Bught Road, Inverness, between its junction with the U3821 Bught Avenue and its junction with the U4158 Ness Walk Upper.
- U4158 Ness Walk Upper, Inverness, between its junction with the U3823 Bught Road and its junction with the U3788 Ballifeary Lane.
- U4158 Ness Walk Upper, Inverness, between its junction with the U3788 Ballifeary Lane and its junction with the U3813 Bishop's Road.
- U4624 Ardross Terrace, Inverness, between its junction with the U4624 Ness Walk and its junction with the U4624 Ardross Street.
- U4624 Ness Walk, Inverness, closed between its junction with Young Street (forming part of the B861 Inverness - Leys - lnverarnie Road) and its junction with the U4624 Ardross Terrace.
- Castle Road (forming part of the B862 Fort Augustus - Whitebridge - Torness - Dores - Inverness Road), Inverness, between its junction with Haugh Road (8862) and its junction with Bridge Street (8861).
- C1201 Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road, Inverness, closed to through traffic between its junction with Castle Road (8862) and its junction with Island Bank Road (B862).
The following will be exempt from the road closures:
- emergency services' vehicles being used in an emergency for Ambulance, Coastguard, Fire Brigade or Police purposes;
- vehicles associated with the Race For Life 5K & 10K events, and employed to ensure the safety of the event participants;
- pedestrians;
- vehicles driven under escort by (b); or
- anything done under the direction of, or with the permission of, a Police Officer in uniform.
