Tributes paid to former Highland Councillor - Dave Fallows

Tributes have been made to former Highland Councillor for the Badenoch and Strathspey Ward, Dave Fallows who has passed away.

Dave Fallows was a Member of The Highland Council from 2007 - 2017.

From 2007 he served on the Housing and Social Work Committee; Transport Environment and Community Services Committee; the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey Area Committee and the Planning Applications and Review Committee.

From 2012 he was Chair of the Finance, Housing and Resources Committee and Chair of the Pensions Committee.

He served on the South Planning Applications Committee (of which he was Vice Chair) and served on the Planning Review Board.

He was a Member of the Fire Board throughout his term of service since 2007.

Mr Fallows stood as a Scottish National Party candidate for the Badenoch and Strathspey Ward 20 in the latest Local Government Election for The Highland Council on 5 May this year.

Convener of The Highland Council, Cllr Bill Lobban said: “Dave was a close friend, colleague and fellow Councillor for many years, and it was great to see him throw his hat in the ring in the recent elections.

"He will be a great loss to the community, whom he served faithfully for so many years, but most especially to his family and close friends."
