Highland Council to consult on Dornoch Common Good land
The Highland Council has, on 31 May 2022, launched a Common Good consultation giving the Dornoch community until 28 July 2022 to respond to a proposal to dispose, by sale, of an area of 56m² of land fronting the property at 8 Well Street, Dornoch which is forms part of Dornoch Common Good land.
The area of land subject to this consultation has been used as garden ground and parking as well for provision of access to the property for a significant period of time. A request has been made by the owner of the property for the Council to consider the sale of the land to enable a complete title to the extent of the property used to be acquired. Negotiations have taken place and a purchase price reflective of the lands value has been proposed.
The Council is keen to hear the community’s views on the proposal and all submissions will be given full regard before a decision on whether to proceed is made.
