Loch Morlich, Glenmore
Work on roadside safety along Long Morlich at Glenmore has been paused while key partner agencies (The Highland Council, Forestry and Land Scotland, and Cairngorms National Park Authority) ensure that all environmental impact concerns have been mitigated.
The heaps of loose material that remain on site are due to be removed as soon as possible, and the existing soil that has been deposited for the bund on the far side of the road will be finished to prevent unsafe parking. An arboriculture report is being commissioned to guide tree protection work.
While the next steps are being agreed, parking will be prevented along areas of the loch side to prevent further compaction damage and reduce safety concerns.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Visitors to Highland beauty spots are reminded to park responsibly, and a warm welcome is extended to all visitors to the National Park.
