Chaidh prògram de chleasan samhraidh tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig a thabhann do sgoilearan ann am Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis agus ann an sgoiltean eile ann an Sgìre a Tuath Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd, a’ gabhail a-steach Inbhir Pheofharain, Baile Dhubhthaich, Inbhir Theòrsa agus Ullapul. Bha am pròiseact air a dhealbh gus cothrom a thabhann do chloinn com-pàirt a ghabhail ann an cleasan Gàidhlig tro na saor-làithean.

Thuirt Calum Rothach, Cathraiche Comataidh Gàidhlig Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd: “Tha Sgeama-cluiche Gàidhlig an t-Samhraidh air cothrom air leth a chruthachadh do dhaoine òga airson a bhith gnìomhach is cruthachail agus fealla-dhà is spòrs a bhith aca fhad ’s a tha iad a’ cleachdadh is ag ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig.”

Am measg nan cleasan a bha air an tabhann bha ealain, obair-chiùird, sgilean coidseadh ball-coise, geamaichean air a’ bhlàr a-muigh agus spòrs air a’ bhlàr a-muigh. Bha seiseanan dràma air an stiùireadh le Artair Donald, Oifigear Co-chomann Cultar na Gàidhealtachd aig Fèis Rois.

Bha na seiseanan coidseadh ball-coise air an stiùireadh gu comasach le Peigi Barker a bhios a’ cluiche airson Sgioba Ball-coise Bhan Caledonian Thistle Inbhir Nis.

Bha Spòrs Gàidhlig (a tha na phàirt de Chomunn na Gàidhlig) air coimisean fhaighinn airson cleasan a lìbhrigeadh air a’ bhlàr a-muigh agus am measg na chaidh a thabhann bha bòrdadh-pleadhaige, claiseachd, abseileadh, cuairtean cladaich, sgilean coille agus coiseachd bheann.

Bha rudeigin ann airson gach aois agus chaidh cuireadh a thoirt do chloinn fo aois sgoile tighinn còmhla rin teaghlaichean air turas gu Coille Obar Itheachan agus gu Cuairt Gruffalo ann an Cùil Lodair, còmhla ri oifigearan Gàidhlig na Comhairle agus oifigearan Chomunn na Gàidhlig.

Chùm Fèis air an Oir a’ phrìomh Fhèis aca tro shaor-làithean an t-samhraidh airson a’ chiad uair às dèidh mòr-ghalar COVID-19. Chuir Sgioba Gàidhlig Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd taic ris an Fhèis. Chaidh clasaichean còmhraidh Gàidhlig a thabhann do dh’inbhich mar phàirt de phrògram na Fèise gus aire a thogail mun Ghàidhlig san sgìre ionadail. Chaidh buidheann 0-3 Gàidhlig a chur air dòigh gus cothrom a thoirt do phàrantan bruidhinn mu Fhoghlam tron Ghàidhlig.

Chaidh na cleasan seo a chur air dòigh le Sgioba Gàidhlig Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd le maoineachadh bho Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd agus Bòrd na Gàidhlig.

North summer fun with Gaelic activities

A programme of Gaelic medium summer activities was offered to pupils in Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis and various schools in the Highland Council North area including Dingwall, Tain, Thurso and Ullapool during the school summer holidays. The project was designed to offer children the opportunity to take part in Gaelic language activities throughout the holidays.

Councillor Calum Munro, Chair of Highland Council’s Gaelic Committee said: “The Summer Gaelic Playscheme has created a huge opportunity for young people to be active and creative, have fun and enjoy themselves while using and learning Gaelic.”

Activities on offer included arts, crafts, football coaching skills, outdoor games and outdoor sports activities. Drama sessions were included as part of the project and sessions were led by Fèis Rois Cultural Collective officer Artair Donald.

The football coaching skills session was ably led by Peigi Barker who plays football for Inverness Caledonian Thistle WFC.

Spòrs Gàidhlig (which is part of Comunn na Gàidhlig) were commissioned to deliver outdoor activities which included a diverse range of activities such as paddle boarding, gorge-walking, abseiling, coastal walks, forest skills and low - level hill walking.

All ages were catered for and pre-school children were invited with their families, to join in a trip to Abriachan Forest trails as well as a Gruffalo Walk in Culloden with the Highland Council Gaelic and Comunn na Gàidhlig officers.

Fèis air an Oir held their main Fèis during the summer holidays for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fèis was supported by Highland Council’s Gaelic Team. Gaelic conversation classes were offered to adults as part of the Fèis programme to raise awareness of the Gaelic language in the local area. A Gaelic 0-3 group was run in conjunction with the Fèis main activities where parents were able to discuss Gaelic Medium education.

These activities were organised by the Highland Council’s Gaelic team with funding from Highland Council and Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
