Highland Council operatives have cleared a landslip which forced the closure of the U21179 Duchaly road at Glen Cassley last Sunday (14 August 2022) evening.

The road will be “passable with care” by lunchtime today, although road closure signs will remain in place until the middle of next week, when more permanent repairs can be made to the road surface.

The single track road in Sutherland serves Duchally Lodge and one other property. It was estimated that approximately 200-300 tonnes of material required to be removed. The landslip happened around five miles into the Glen.
