Short Term Lets update

The Highland Council informs hosts and operators that an online application form will be available by 1 October 2022

The Council is not yet accepting applications for short-term let licences. A further public announcement will be made once the online application form opens.

After 1 October 2022, new operators of short-term let accommodation must have a licence before taking any bookings or receiving guests. This also applies to existing operators who establish new short-term let accommodation after 1 October 2022.

Existing hosts or operators (operating before 1 October 2022) can continue to accept bookings and receive guests while their application is being determined and have until 1 April 2023 to apply for a licence.

Please note that the online application process is not yet open. 

The application process is going through its final testing and will be open for applications shortly before 1 October 2022.
