Education Committee Chair, Cllr John Finlayson said: “The variety of accolades presented to Members today has made us all feel very proud of each, and every single person involved. It showcases the resilience, ambition, talent and fantastic achievements across the length and breadth of the Council area.
“It was heart-warming and quite emotional listening to the presentation and reflecting on the many outstanding achievements. Despite the many challenges and obstacles endured throughout the last few years it’s truly remarkable to witness the successes the children and young people across Highland have made.”
Cllr John Finlayson added: “Not only have we heard today of some of the children and young people’s achievements in class but also the remarkable achievements made outside the classroom. On behalf of the Education Committee, we are delighted to hear that many of the important things that children and young people missed out on during the pandemic are returning and that people can begin to enjoy their interests again. It is vitally important for people’s wellbeing and encouraging to watch the presentation of all the exceptional achievements in 2022. We look forward with optimism that in 2023 we can enjoy witnessing more children and young people thriving right across Highland.”
