Gaelic Medium catchments established in West area

Education Committee Members have agreed a recommendation to establish Gaelic Medium (GM) catchment areas for Plockton Primary School and Lochcarron Primary School.

Members agreed the catchments as outlined in the original proposal which was widely circulated to parents, pupils, and other stakeholders as part of a statutory consultation process. The consultation process ran from Tuesday 1 March 2022 to Friday 29 April 2022.

The GM catchment for Lochcarron Primary School will be the same as the school’s English Medium (EM) catchment.

The GM catchment for Plockton Primary School will encompass the current EM catchments for Plockton Primary School, Kyle Primary School, Kyleakin Primary School, Auchtertyre Primary School and Loch Duich Primary School.

The agreed recommendation will be taken to a future meeting of The Highland Council for consideration.
