Rangers hunt the gowk at Reelig Glen
Children are being invited to join The Highland Council and Forestry Commission Rangers to ‘Hunt the Gowk’ in Reelig Glen this Sunday 1st April.
Mairi Nicolson, Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger for Inverness West said: “There’s a Gowk loose in the woods, but it’s left behind some clues. We hope families will join the Countryside Rangers from the Forestry Commission and Highland Council on this two-hour woodland walk and see if they can hunt it down.”
This joint event is part of the countryside programmes of The Highland Council’s Planning and Development Services and Forestry Commission Scotland. Participants are asked to meet at the Forestry Commission car park (Grid reference NH559 432) at 2pm. The event is suitable for family groups and is free to attend. All children must be accompanied by an adult. For further information please telephone 01463 710786.
The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are a partnership between The Highland Council and Scottish Natural Heritage with the aim of promoting public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and conserving wildlife.
