Members agree 2023/24 Road Capital Programme for Easter Ross area

Members of the Easter Ross Area Committee today approved the area’s road capital programme for 2023/24. 

The local allocations capital budget for 2023/24 remains to be established which will be calculated from the approved capital budget allocation being adjusted for any acceleration or slippage in the previous financial year for each area allocation, and also analysis of the road condition survey results. 

Consequently the 2023/24 area capital roads programme is based on the previous year’s Baseline Capital Budget, which is unlikely to vary significantly from the established budget that will not be determined until early Summer. 

As Easter Ross Area have a total of 23% of the road length in the former Ross and Cromarty area, this capital programme is based on 23% of the 2023/24 Ross and Cromarty Area Capital budget. Adjusting for accelerated spend, this amounts to £254,534. 

The Area Capital Programme for 2023/24 will include the following priorities: 

• Surface dressing of approx. 2,900m on the B9165 Fearn to Balmuchy Road 

• Overlay of approx. 500m on the C1023 Dingwall to Evanton Back Road 

• Approx 800m of surface dressing on the U1921 Achnagarron Road and 464m of overlay on the same road 

• Approx 383m of surface dressing on the U3889 Shore Road
