Issued by Skills Development Scotland
Tha Leasachadh Sgilean na h-Alba (SDS) a’ tabhann a’ chiad oideachadh-lìn aca a-riamh ann an Gàidhlig gus cuideachadh a thoirt do phàrantan is luchd-cùraim sgoilearan a tha a’ beachdachadh air an cànan ionnsachadh no a tha ag ionnsachadh a’ chànain gu làithreach.
Bidh an seisean bhiortail (Diciadain 8 Gearran aig 6:30f) a’ co-roinn fiosrachadh mu sheirbheis dhreuchdan na h-Alba a thuilleadh air togail air na buannachdan co-cheangailte ri bhith ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig airson obraichean san àm ri teachd.
Thuirt Derek MacCoinnich, Oifigear Leasachaidh Gàidhlig aig SDS: “Is e seo a’ chiad uair a tha sinn air tachartas air-loidhne a lìbhrigeadh do luchd-labhairt na Gàidhlig air feadh Alba air fad. Tha tachartasan roimhe air a bhith a’ cuimseachadh air ceàrnaidhean ionadail sònraichte le àireamh àrd sa cheud de luchd-labhairt Gàidhlig.
“Bheir an seisean seo comhairle do phàrantan agus luchd-cùraim sgoilearan ann am P7 gu ÀS3 air feadh na dùthcha gu lèir, mun raon fharsaing de chothroman dhreuchdan a tha rim faotainn ann an Gàidhlig.
“Tha prìomh àiteachan cosnaidh far am faod Gàidhlig a bhith na buannachd, gu h-àraid ann am foghlam, a’ gabhail a-steach cùram-chloinne agus tràth-bhliadhnaichean; roinnean cruthachail is ealain; seirbheisean eadar-theangachaidh is leasachadh cànain, agus turasachd is aoigheachd.”
Faodaidh daoine a thighinn don t-seisean air-loidhne a-mhàin air Diciadain 8 Gearran aig 6:30f le clàradh an seo.
First ever national careers event in Gaelic for parents and carers
Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is offering its first ever national webinar in Gaelic to help parents and carers of pupils considering learning, or currently studying the language.
The virtual session (Wednesday 8 February at 6:30pm) will share information on Scotland’s career service as well as highlighting the benefits of studying Gaelic for future jobs.
Derek MacKenzie, Gaelic Development Officer with SDS, said: “This is the first time we have delivered an online event for Gaelic speakers across the whole of Scotland. Previous events have targeted specific local areas with a high percentage of Gaelic speakers.
“This session will give parents and carers of P7 to S3 pupils, right across the country, advice on the huge array of career opportunities that are available in Gaelic.
“There are key employment areas where Gaelic can be so beneficial, most notably in education, including childcare and early years; the arts and creative sectors; translation services and language development, and of course tourism and hospitality.”
People can join the online only session on Wednesday 8 February at 6:30pm by registering here.
