New Gaelic Toddler group in Newtonmore
A new Gaelic Toddler group has started up in Newtonmore.
Parents of babies and toddlers met this week to enjoy some Gaelic songs and stories at the Newtonmore Village Hall.
Chair of Highland Council’s Gaelic Committee Cllr Calum Munro said: “The group are supported by the Highland Council Gaelic Team and Bòrd na Gàidhlig. I am delighted that support is being provided to encourage Gaelic language development among parents and children.”
The group disbanded when Covid 19 struck and Friday was the first meeting up of the new group.
Local mum and playleader Shona Campbell, who went through Gaelic Medium Education herself, said: “I was delighted at the turnout for the Gaelic group and look forward to meeting up with the local parents and enjoying lots of Gaelic activities together with our wee ones.”
