Job Fair for Over 50’s
Anyone aged 50 and over who is looking for a job or considering a change in career is being invited to come along to a Jobs Fair taking place in Inverness next week
The event, which takes place on Wednesday 8 March in Inverness Town House from 10am to 12.30pm, has been arranged by The Highland Council in partnership with the DWP.
Chair of the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Councillor Ken Gowans is encouraging people aged 50 and over to come along and find out more about job opportunities.
He said: “This event is aimed at people aged 50 and over who may be considering re-joining the workforce after a break, especially in light of rising living costs and also for anyone looking for a change in career.
“We are bringing together businesses who are looking for new staff in this age group so if you are looking for full-time or part-time work, it is a great chance to come along to speak face to face with prospective employers and find out more about current vacancies.”
In addition to local employers, there will also be an info hub which will feature organisations including the Council’s welfare team, Home Energy Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, New Start Highland and Triage, who will be available to discuss other support available to people to assist with the rising cost of living.
Businesses attending the event will include: Kingsmills Group; Scotmid; Stagecoach; Parkdean; Manpower; Brook Street; Whitbread; WCG Ltd.
