Uig Ferry services will resume from Tuesday 28 March 2023
The Highland Council’s works to modify the temporary bridge are now complete and following discussions with CalMac, ferry services will resume on Tuesday 28 March 2023.
Economy and Infrastructure Committee Chair, Cllr Ken Gowans said: “Remedial works were undertaken over the weekend to resolve the issue of vehicles over 10m being able to travel out via Uig Port. The Council appreciates the patience of the communities and businesses who use the route and apologises for the disruption experienced, particularly for those impacted with the temporary length of vehicle restriction.
“The replacement of vital infrastructure at Uig Port are essential to ensure the ferry services on the Little Minch routes can continue to serve communities and visitors for many years to come.”
The Council will continue to work with all parties CalMac Ferries, Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) and RJ McLeod to mitigate the impacts to all traffic during the remainder of construction to ensure any disruption is minimised.
