Planned part-day Road Closures - B851 at Farr Playpark, Strathnairn
Motorists are being advised that there will be two part-day road closures of the B851 at Farr Playpark, Strathnairn (south of Inverness).
The closures will be in force on Thursday 13 April and Friday 14 April between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.
The road closures are required to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works and to ensure safe working practices.
On Wednesday 12 April Temporary Traffic Signals will be in operation to carry out preparatory work with minimal delays expected.
A local diversion for Light Vehicles Only will be in place using the Brin – Dunlichity - Balnafoich Road, during these times. This route is unsuitable for HGV’s which will be signed and routed separately via the main B-road network.
Advance notification signs advising the public of this closure will be erected at the site and at remote junctions, giving advance notice of the works.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained and pedestrians and cyclists will also be managed through the works via the new shared-use path under the supervision of the Contractor.
Bus services will be managed through the works on the Wednesday but will be diverted on the Thursday and Friday during the Closure times via the local diversion (with a smaller vehicle) to avoid damage to the new surfacing material.
Highland Council would like to thank communities in advance for their understanding during these essential works.
