Nairn Highland Games event bolstered by £10k of local funding

Nairnshire Area members, who met on 15 May were delighted to announce an award of £10,000 worth of support to the Nairn Games Committee. 

The funding is being met through a combination of the Ward Discretionary Fund and Common Good Fund Events and Festivals budget and will facilitate particular elements of the event including commercial waste charges, set-up costs and plant hire as well as the Massed Bands Parade.

Cllr Michael Green, Chair of the Nairnshire Area Committee, said:  “My Ward colleagues and I are delighted to be able to support the Nairn Games Committee again this year with funding to facilitate the event in August.

He continued:  “The Nairn Highland Games is always a highlight of the annual events calendar for the local area, and is one which consistently attracts high levels of attendance and is enjoyed by many thousands of locals and tourists alike.”

The Nairn Highland Games will take place on Saturday, 19 August 2023 at The Links.
