Positive inspection report at Highland school
Glenurquhart Primary School and Nursery has received a high rating and a glowing report following their most recent inspection by Education Scotland.
The report praised various qualities and strengths which inspectors found in the school, its pupils, and its staff. Inspectors noted that they found:
‘Confident and articulate children who are proud of their school and the contribution they make to the local community. They display motivation and resilience in their attitude to learning and reflect thoughtfully about their own strengths and where they can improve still further.’
‘Staff who deliver engaging high-quality learning and teaching across classes. There is a strong focus on the development of key skills for learning, life and work that will help children to be successful in the future.’
‘The very effective leadership of the headteacher in monitoring how well learners are attaining. She works closely with teachers to support all children to make very good progress in their learning and receive any additional support they may require.’
Head Teacher Kerrie Laid said: “Everyone in our school, nursery and community works together to make Glenurquhart Primary all that it is, reflecting our vision of, ‘Guiding, Uniting and Supporting Success.’ We are delighted to see this recognised in the report and the strengths identified. We will now use the advice for moving forward with improvement and our ongoing self-evaluation to continue to develop and progress positively.
“I am a very proud Head Teacher and would like to thank and congratulate all our children, staff, families, partners and wider community for their hard work and support as we continue our partnership to make Glenurquhart Primary the best it can be.”
