Resurfacing works planned for Old Perth Road, Inverness
Highland Council is planning to carry out extensive road resurfacing works on Old Perth Road, Inverness, beginning on Sunday 25 June and extending over five consecutive nights, from 7pm until 7am each night.
To try and minimise any disruption, works will be carried out at times when traffic volumes are lighter. The works are planned to take place before the school holidays and the start of the main tourist season (July/August). The work is to be phased as follows:
Sunday 25 June 2023 – plane out existing road surface in the area highlighted in red on the location plan (pictured), and adjust the levels of any ironwork (e.g. manhole covers, etc) if required. Please note that the work to remove the existing road surface will be carried out before 11pm, to minimise the impact of any noise disturbance on local residents.
Monday 26 June 2023 – lay new surfacing in the area highlighted in red on the location plan (pictured).
Tuesday 27 June 2023 – plane out existing road surface in the area highlighted in green on the location plan (pictured), and adjust the levels of any ironwork if required. Please note that the work to remove the existing road surface will be carried out before 11pm, to minimise the impact of any noise disturbance on local residents.
Wednesday 28 June 2023 – lay new surfacing in the area highlighted in green on the location plan (pictured).
Thursday 29 June 2023 – resurface roundabout tails in the areas highlighted in blue on the location plan (pictured), on Old Perth Road and Culcabock Road. Also carry out white lining and yellow box junction road markings.
The Council recognises the inconvenience and hopes the long-term benefits will be welcomed by road users. Please note that there are also resurfacing works planned for Culcabock Road and the dates and timings for this will follow in a separate communication.
