Active Travel Award welcomed by Chair
The Highland Council is pleased to announce that it has been awarded £600,000 to deliver Phase 2 of the Beauly to Inverness Active Travel Route.
Chair of the Environment and Infrastructure Committee, Councillor Ken Gowans said: “I’m delighted that our application for funding has been successful. This shared path will provide a further car-free section of the route between Beauly and Inverness for people choosing to walk, wheel or cycle. The project will extend the existing route alongside the A862 from Dunballoch, east of the Lovat Bridge, to the junction with the A833.”
Funding from the scheme was awarded from Scottish Government’s Active Travel Transformation Fund, which is a pilot to explore the best way to get funds to Local Authorities to deliver active travel infrastructure.
