Health and Social Care Service Plan approved
Highland Councillors on the Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Committee have welcomed and approved the Health and Social Care Service Plan for 2023/24.
The plan’s vision is:
- “for all of Highland’s children, young people, families and adults supported by the Council to have the best possible outcomes in life;
- for Highland infants, children, and young people to have the best possible start in life…; and
- for supported adults to be assisted to stay safe and free from exploitation and to be supported where possible to live safely in the communities that they are part of.”
The vision will be delivered by tackling inequalities, providing love and support for Highland’s care experienced children and young people; promoting children’s rights and participation; ensuring good health and mental wellbeing for all; protecting and supporting those living in our communities and by working in partnership.
The approved service plan highlights the staffing, budget and resources and details the Service priorities and improvement actions and their measures of success.
The plan also highlights how the Council is achieving best value and transforming the Service to achieve efficiency savings and sets out the Service’s improvement priorities for the year including how this contributes to the delivery of the Council’s Corporate Plan for 2022-27.
Chair of the Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Committee Councillor David Fraser said: “The importance of this Service Plan is crucial to the health and wellbeing of many among our communities in Highland. Members will know individuals who will be impacted and supported by this Plan and this committee is committed to ensuring the delivery of the plan will be scrutinised effectively.
“Progress of the Service Plan will be monitored on a quarterly basis and Members look forward to future reports to the Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Committee on the delivery of the plan.”
