Councillors endorse Inverness BID work

A report on the work of Inverness City Centre Business Improvement District (BID) for the current financial year 2023-24 has been endorsed by Members of The Highland Council’s City of Inverness Area Committee.

Councillors also welcomed the ongoing development of partnership working by Inverness BID with The Highland Council and other organisations such as the Police on seven key projects.

BID has been successful in making applications to the Inverness Common Good Fund for £111,272 project funding for 2023/24. The key projects and funding awarded by the Inverness Common Good Fund include:

  • Coach Friendly Project (£12,987),
  • City Summer floral displays, (£64,150),
  • Gull management (£12,839),
  • Gift cards, events, and marketing,
  • Inverness Community Safety Partnership (£9,700) and Safe Inverness,
  • Operation Respect (£11,596) - BID security task team and taxi marshals, and
  • Smart Scape, BID Ambassadors and festive parking.

Leader of Inverness and Area Councillor Ian Brown said: “The Highland Council continues to be supportive of Inverness BID as it proceeds into its fourth successive 5-year term which will run till the end of March 2028.”

He added: “The Council recognises and commends what Inverness BID can achieve through effective partnership.”
