Creative academy pupil has design on Community Council Elections
An Inverness secondary pupil is the winner of a competition run by Highland Council's Election Team.
As part of their Youth Programme, the Council’s elections team held a logo design competition across Highland schools.
The aim of the competition was to inspire pupils to put their creative caps on and to spark their curiosity in democracy and elections.
Congratulations to the winner, Calum Torrens of Inverness Royal Academy (S5). His design will now be used in all branding for the 2023 Community Council Elections which kicked off last week with elections concluding on Monday 27 November this year for those contested.
Calum’s logo will be displayed on ballot papers, nomination forms and widely used to encourage participation to the Community Council elections.
He was presented with his prize - 6 months Membership sponsored by Highlife Highland – at today’s Education Committee.
Nomination papers for the Community Council elections need to be lodged before 12 noon on Tuesday 3 October 2023. For further information contact the election office on election@highland.gov.uk
