ISSUED ON BEHALF OF THE RETURNING OFFICER

By now those registered electors for the Tain and Easter Ross by-election should have received their poll card.  Permanent postal voters will have received a purple coloured poll card indicating that they are voting by post.   For those voters who vote in-person at a polling station, they would receive a white poll card indicating the location of their polling place.

In order not to disrupt the education of pupils for this by-election, the Council will not be using the school premises of Fearn Primary as a polling station but instead will be using a local community hall. Voters who previously used Fearn Primary School will need to vote at the Seaboard Memorial Hall in Balintore in-person.

Please note that a dial-a-bus service will be available on Thursday 28 September for voters living in the Fearn area who would previously have voted at the Primary School and will now be using Balintore Seaboard Memorial Hall.  The dial-a-bus service can be contacted via 01862 892166 during the hours of operation from 9am to 5.30pm.

The Council has made a short film to explain the change of location

If you wish to vote by post, the deadline to submit an application form is 5pm on Wednesday 13 September 2023. To do this please contact the Electoral Registration Office on 0800 393 783 or via the websitehttps://www.saa.gov.uk/h-wi-vjb/the-electoral-register/
