Power Outage Inverness (Multi-agency statement)

Issued on behalf of the Multi-Agency Response Team

Following a power outage affecting a small number of properties in the city centre early this morning, partner agencies have been meeting to consider any impacts and address any urgent issues arising.

SSE has been in touch with customers.

Following a power outage affecting 2,800 properties in the city centre early this morning, partner agencies have been meeting to consider any impacts and address any urgent issues arising.

SSEN Distribution has advised that by 8am they had restored power to 2,600 of these properties by re-routing the network.

By lunchtime, the number of properties who remained off-supply was further reduced and around 100 are currently without power, as teams continued to re-route supplies and deploy mobile generation units.

All supplies are expected to be back on by 7pm this evening.

Power has now been restored at the Eastgate Centre and the Justice Centre.

SSEN Distribution has apologised for the inconvenience caused as its teams work to restore power, and would encourage any customer with concerns to call them on the 24/7 power cut helpline, 105.
