Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd a’ guidhe deagh Mhòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail do Phàislig
Tha Ceannard Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd agus Cathraiche Chomataidh na Gàidhlig a’ cur an deagh dhùrachdan chun a’ Chomuinn Ghàidhealaich, gu Comataidh Eagrachaidh Ionadail Mòd Phàislig, agus gu na farpaisich uile air thoiseach air Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail 2023.
Bidh Mòd Phàislig a’ tòiseachadh air Dihaoine 13 Dàmhair agus a’ crìochnachadh air Disathairne 21 Dàmhair 2023.
Thuirt Ceannard Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd, an Comhairliche Raymond Bremner: “Tha taic Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd dhan Mhòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail ag aithneachadh nam buannachdan mòra cultarach is eaconamach a bhios am Mòd a’ toirt chun na dùthcha againn agus gu sònraichte do na sgìrean anns a bheil e air aoigheachd.”
Lean e air adhart: “Tha am Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail a’ cur ri Prògram Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd ‘Ar Gàidhealtachd ri Teachd’ 2022–27, a tha a’ gealltainn a bhith ag obrachadh còmhla ri com-pàirtichean gus piseach a thoirt air inbhe-beatha agus cothroman do mhuinntir na Gàidhealtachd. Tha am Prògram againn a’ comharrachadh oidhirpean leantainneach na Comhairle a thaobh a bhith a’ leasachadh cànan is cultar na Gàidhlig agus a’ brosnachadh is a’ neartachadh dualchas is cultar beairteach na Gàidhealtachd. Tha a’ Chomhairle a’ coimhead air adhart ri Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail 2025 a bhios na phrìomh thachartas san sgìre.”
Thuirt Cathraiche Chomataidh na Gàidhlig, an Comhairliche Calum Rothach: “Tha mi an dòchas gun tèid gu math leis na farpaisich air fad a bhios a’ gabhail pàirt ann an còisirean agus nan aonar ann am Pàislig. Tha mi cuideachd a’ guidhe gach soirbheachas do chom-pàirtichean a bhios a’ riochdachadh sgìre na Gàidhealtachd agus an dòchas gum bi deagh Mhòd aig a h-uile duine ann am Pàislig am-bliadhna.”
A’ coimhead air adhart ri 2025, thuirt an Comhairliche Rothach: “Chaidh Loch Abar a thaghadh airson Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail 2025 a thèid a chumail bhon 10 gu 18 Dàmhair dhen bhliadhna sin. ’S e seo an naoidheamh turas a bhios am Mòd air a chumail anns a’ Ghearasdan. Bheir seo togail mòr dhan Ghearasdan fhèin agus do sgìre Loch Abar san fharsaingeachd a thaobh na h-eaconamaidh, cànan agus cultar, agus bheir e taic do sholar Foghlam tron Ghàidhlig aig Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar.”
Highland Council wishes Paisley a great Royal National Mòd
Highland Council’s Leader and Chair of the Gaelic Committee are sending their best wishes to An Comunn Gàidhealach, the Paisley National Mòd (Mòd Phàislig) Local Organising Committee and competitors for the start of the 2023 Royal National Mòd.
Mòd Phàislig starts on Friday 13 October and runs till Saturday 21 October 2023.
Leader of The Highland Council, Cllr Raymond Bremner said: “The Highland Council’s support for the Royal National Mòd recognises the significant cultural and economic benefits that it brings to our country and specifically to host regions.”
He added: “The Royal National Mòd complements Highland Council’s Programme ‘Our Future Highland’ 2022-27 which is committed to working together with partners to improve quality of life and opportunities for Highland people. Our Programme highlights the Council’s continued efforts to promote Gaelic language and cultural development and to promote and enhance Highland’s rich heritage and culture. The Royal National Mòd is the key annual Gaelic event which Highland Council has committed to for 2025.”Chair of the Gaelic Committee, Cllr Calum Munro added: “Good luck to all the group and individual competitors who are competing at Paisley. I also wish all participants representing Highland region all the best in their competitions and hope that a great Mòd experience is had by all at this prestigious national event in Paisley this year.”
Looking forward to 2025, Cllr Munro added: “Lochaber has been selected as the host area for The Royal National Mòd 2025 from 10 to 18 October 2025, bringing the annual celebration of Gaelic language and culture to Fort William for the ninth time. This will be a huge economic, linguistic and cultural boost for Fort William and the wider Lochaber area, and will also support the GME provision at Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar.”
