Communities advised to stay safe and prepare for potential impacts from Storm Babet

The Met Office has issued an Amber weather Warning (Thursday 19 October and Friday 20 October), which may affect southern parts of Highland.

The arrival of Storm Babet means there are also Met Office Yellow weather Warnings for rain and wind into Saturday 21 October, affecting a wider area.

Highland Council roads operatives responded to a number of flooding incidents and landslips following last weekend’s stormy weather and teams will be on stand-by once again this weekend to respond where necessary.

The forecasted rain and wind this week has the potential to cause further disruption. You can find handy information about reporting issues at this webpage.

Advice on preparing for severe weather can be found on the Ready Scotland website.
