Giant Bonfire at Inverness Taking Shape

Work has commenced on building the giant bonfire that will be the focal point of the 2007 Inverness Civic Bonfire and Fireworks Display being staged at the Bught Park on Monday evening, starting at 7 pm.

Thousands of wooden pallets have been donated by members of the Inverness Business Community for the Highland’s biggest bonfire, which will be lit by Provost Bob Wynd, Chairman of the Inverness City Committee of The Highland Council.

The fireworks’ display will be staged by the award winning Fireworx Scotland Display Team who will use computer aided ignition and sequencing to co-ordinate the 20 minute display to music.

Drivers are reminded that Bught Road will be closed for the duration of the event to non-residents and that only Blue Badge Holders will be allowed to park in the Disabled Car Park that will in operation on the night.

The Highland Council’s Events Officer Gerry Reynolds said: “We would like to ask all spectators to set off as early as they can so that everybody gets to see the display and sample the wonderful atmosphere down at the Bught on Bonfire night.”
