Inverness Common Good funding awards

Sixteen funding awards have been granted by the City of Inverness Area Committee today from the Inverness Common Good Fund totalling £283,108.60.

The organisations and projects or events that have been awarded Inverness Common Good funding are: 

• Dopamine Dolls: £2,185 towards start up and general first year running costs.
• Merkinch Community Shop: £9,200 for a community food project.
• Highland One World: £8,493 towards supporting anti-racist education in nurseries and primary schools in Inverness.
• Highland Rugby Football Club: £9,500 towards community rugby development programme.
• Calman Trust: £9,370 towards Club Artysans.
• Blythswood Care: £25,000 towards the Highland Foodbank – Inverness 2024.
• Special Needs Action Project (SNAP): £30,000 towards setup costs for expansion of services to the Haven Centre.
• Chamber Music Tours Scotland: £3,240 towards Inverness Piano Recitals in Spring and Autumn 2024.
• Visit Inverness Loch Ness: £5,000 towards an Active Travel Officer.
• TFX Performing Arts Community: £4,750 towards the Highland Drama Company.
• Inverness Military Wives Choir: £924 towards Remembrance Concerts 2023.
• Inverness BID: £8,484 towards the Smart Scape project and £9,845 towards Operation Respect – Festive 2023.
• Inverness Burns Club: £3,463.30 to host a civic dinner to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Inverness Burns Club
• Inverness Hospital Radio: civic buffet to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Inverness Hospital Radio at a cost of £3,654.30
• Whin Park Redevelopment: £150,000 to deliver play equipment replacement.

As the Inverness Common Good Fund’s overall grants budget has been oversubscribed, the City of Inverness and Area Committee has agreed to close the Grants and City Vibrancy budgets for further applications for the remainder of financial year 2023/24.
